The Beat of the City ("we") runs thebeatofthecity.com, a place for neighbors to buy, sell, give away and talk about what's happening locally. By using the site you agree to these terms.
Who can use it
You must be at least 13 to use the site and at least 18 to buy, sell or message on the marketplace.
Your account
Keep access to your email secure, since sign-in links go there. You're responsible for what happens under your account. One person, one account.
What you post
- You keep ownership of what you post. You give us permission to host, display and adapt it (for example, resizing photos) to run the site.
- Post only things you have the right to share, describe items honestly, and follow the posting rules, including all local, state and federal laws.
- Don't harass people, share someone's private information, spam, or post anything illegal.
- We may remove content or limit accounts that break these rules, and we use automated checks and reports from neighbors to find it.
Deals are between you and the other person
We don't own, inspect or guarantee anything listed, and we aren't part of any transaction. Use the safety tips. To the extent the law allows, we aren't liable for losses from dealings between users.
Local news
News sections show headlines and short summaries supplied by publishers, with links to the original stories. The stories belong to their publishers.
